Caden and the Bottle

In addition to feeding Caden the old fashioned way, Sherrill is also pumping so we have some extra milk around when she might not be home or for other emergencies. When we decided to give the bottle a try Sherrill told me that "they" say it should be someone other than the milk producer (her) who feeds the baby with the bottle (me). Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that she is making this up so she doesn't have to get up to give the baby a bottle at 4:00 AM?

Step 1: Heat milk, put in bottle.
Introduce myself as his server for this evening and tell Caden this is a vintage year (or freshly squeezed).

Step 2: Let Baby smell the nipple.

As a rookie I forgot this part and unfortunately Caden isn't very happy with the service he is receiving

Step 3: Listen to customer feedback. The customer is always right.

Step 4: Serve the milk as requested. Important note: drinking from a bottle is kind of like drinking from a beer bong, once it starts going, it is best to step back a bit and give the drinker room to work. Also, keep bottle tipped so the milk is always flowing (oops, another rookie mistake).

Step 5: Relax and reminisce about the experience

Step 6: This is important: Trick wife into feeding Caden with a bottle so her 4:00 AM excuse is no longer valid.
