Category 5 Hurricane

Like most hurricanes you know it is coming, you just don't know exactly when or where and like most, some, a few people you don't pay much attention to the weather report figuring that the media is blowing it out of proportion.  Apparently it is the same with the "terrible twos".  Sure we saw the warning signs, an outburst here or there, learning and using the word "no", mild disappointment when he didn't get what he wanted, but it usually never more than a quick rain shower or strong breeze.  Imagine our surprise over the last week when we have been repeatedly pelted with hail the size of cantaloupe as the boy breaks into full temper tantrum mode.  I'm not talking about a little crying or kicking, I'm talking about throwing himself from one wall of his crib into the other like Mighty Mouse on caffeine and repeatedly screaming NO, NO, NO like George W. at a truth telling contest.

I went straight to the manual to find out if this type of behavior is covered by warranty (if you will remember we paid extra for the upgraded model).  Again, imagine my surprise when I read that this "phase (T2)" is an "added feature at no extra cost", a stepping stone to personal independence.  That is about as useful as the weatherman's forecast... the storm is here and there is no end in sight.

I'm off to find out if my homeowners insurance covers floods.
