It is important for super heroes to have good self esteem; imagine if you had to go to work with a leotard only covered by your Underoos and a cape.
With that in mind, we took the opportunity to enroll Boy Wonder in several classes through our local park and rec department this winter. One of the classes he is signed up for is Tip Toes. Now I assumed that Tip Toes was a dance class [full disclosure moment - Basically I am projecting on to my kid here, I harbor a fantasy about being a professional tap dancer, that is tap with a T not a L, even though I have not taken a single tap dance class in my live and have feet that move at the speed of cement]
Well, it turns out that Tip Toes is a dance class, more specifically a pre-ballet class (nice unintentional tie in to wearing a leotard). As you might suspect, The Boy is, well, the boy in the class otherwise populated by cute little girls, nine of them to be exact. In the class they learn to dance, leap, spin, etc. sometimes by themselves or with the whole group (very cute) and sometimes with one other kid. It was during this part that Boy Wonder was paired with what I would refer to as the Alpha Female in the class, not only was she a little older and had previous ballet experience but she also liked to be in charge. She didn't seem to have any qualms about chasing and pulling BW around the room until he did what she wanted. Let's just say that during their time together she led.
Boy Wonder normally really enjoys going to classes but after this experience he wasn't so sure. I'm wondering if this adorable little girl might actual unseat the top spot on the scary chart from the Skullasauraus (Winnie the Pooh).
As for his Dad, I'm still projecting and a little disheartened that I try for 40 years to get the girls to chase me and he gets it done before he is even 3 years old.
